What To Expect
1
Gansett Cruises
Break away from the typical harbor boat tour and take a quiet, relaxing, and delightful cruise of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay's East Passage aboard a traditionally restored 50-foot lobster boat. Watch the sun set in a comfortably cushioned and shaded deck, or from the top 'sunny side' deck. The guides, many of whom grew up on these waters, are enthused to share the legends and rich history of their home port. On every cruise, there's something special and complimentary from the galley that is representative of Rhode Island cuisine and culture. Guests on board discover the true flavor of The Ocean State, all compliments of the Captain. Sunset cruisers will enjoy a quahog "stuffie" and champagne to toast their relaxing evening on the water. The cash bar on board serves a selection of Narragansett Beer, Newport Vineyard white wines, and other Rhode Island signature drinks.

We took a sunset cruise out of Newport, on a Tuesday evening. Patrick was not only informative but also funny. All staff were friendly and helpful. I did try the clam appetizer and found it to be very good. We purchased beverages on board and also had complimentary champagne. Good price for the experience, would definitely go again next time we are in town with family and friends. I would suggest a jacket or sweater, being out on a boat the breeze can get chilly. Boat was clean, seating was comfortable, overall we were very satisfied and highly recommend this cruise.

Thanks for taking the time to review your sunset Champagne cruise aboard the Gansett. Your experience and advice will certainly prove helpful to those exploring a Newport boat tour. The Gansett prides itself on the friendliness of its crew, the knowledge and humor of our tour guides and the attractive price of both the tour and drinks on board, which always feature a complimentary beverage. And we're delighted to hear you'll definitely go again -- we'll be looking for you, your family and friends. All the best, John

What a nice review - and very much appreciated. We love telling the story of the young heroine, Ida, the lighthouse keeper who was barely five-foot-four tall and weighed a little over a hundred pounds. Yet she's credited with saving at least 18 lives while stationed at Lime Rock lighthouse, now known as the Ida Lewis yacht club. Hope to see you again for another harbor tour! John
