What To Expect

Gansett Cruises

Break away from the typical harbor boat tour and take a quiet, relaxing, and delightful cruise of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay's East Passage aboard a traditionally restored 50-foot lobster boat. Watch the sun set in a comfortably cushioned and shaded deck, or from the top 'sunny side' deck. The guides, many of whom grew up on these waters, are enthused to share the legends and rich history of their home port. On every cruise, there's something special and complimentary from the galley that is representative of Rhode Island cuisine and culture. Love the review! In RI, the complimentary clam you received on our Sunset trip is called a "Stuffie." (Stuffed with all good things). We serve it along with a complimentary glass of champagne as the sun sets over the Bay. A nice end to a perfect day in Newport. Thanks for joining us. John

Beautiful scenery and terrific guide. We really enjoyed the ride. Plenty of space and the stuffed clam and champagne were a special touch. Highly recommend.

We booked the Newport Harbor Sightseeing Cruise at sunset. We weren’t sure if the boat was going to go out because the weather had taken a windy turn and the waters looked choppy, however, our fears were unfounded. The captain and crew were very safety-conscious both with the Covid-19 protocols and the regular nautical practices. Patrick, the tour narrator, was excellent, and knowledgeable not only about the sights on land, but all the fabulous boats and yachts on the water. It was a good way to get a different perspective of Newport. We enjoyed a quahog “stuffie” and a champagne toast as part of our admission. Overall, a fun time and good value.
