I loved visiting Newport, and I LOVED going on this sunset cruise! I wish I could remember our tour guides name b/c he was HILARIOUS! There is complimentary champagne and "stuffies", you can get an additional drinks for a charge. We had an amazing time!

I'll just cut to the chase, I would highly recommend a Gansett Sunset Cruise. Now that I've dispensed with the obvious, let me explain why. The staff was friendly and professional, the tour host was funny. There were some obviously corny jokes, but overall, he was very entertaining, he interacted with the audience, and he didn't take himself too seriously. There was so much information about the boats and yachts we passed that I couldn't take it all in, but it wasn't overwhelming. We were offered a hot snack, (it was like a crab cake in a shell) and a champagne toast to toast the sunset. Other beverages were for sale on the cruise. Helpful Hint: If you want to take pictures on the sunset cruise, I would highly recommend you sit on the starboard side (right side if you're at the front of the boat, left side if you're facing the captain's back).

My wife and I took the Sunset Cruise on 8/15/18, and had a very enjoyable time. Everything from the tour guides sense of humor (which has us all laughing out loud at times), the complimentary snack & champagne, and the friendliness of our server made the passengers feel at home. We picked a nice day and did have a wonderful sunset view on the bay. I have taken similar tours elsewhere (Ocean City, MD, Myrtle Beach, etc.) and this was my favorite, largely because of the history behind the points of interest along the shore and the crew's commitment to interacting personally with the passengers, all at a very reasonable price. I'd recommend this cruise to anyone who wants some affordable leisure on the water while vacationing in Newport.
