Take a small-group guided dolphin kayak tour along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay at sunset to combine gorgeous visuals with epic dolphin experiences. Little or no experience is necessary to use our sturdy sit-on-top kayaks to explore the coastal waters of Virginia Beach and get closer to wild dolphins than you have ever been before. Guides will help you launch and navigate along the coast for 2-hrs while you relax and enjoy a magnificent view of the sun setting over the Bay.

What To Expect

First Landing State Park

Meet your guides on the beach at the Main Entrance to First Landing State Park ready for one of Virginia Beach's most unique experiences. After a short briefing on safety and kayak operation, your guides will help launch you and your kayak into the Chesapeake Bay where you will enjoy the thrill of kayaking with Atlantic Bottle nose Dolphins off the Shoreline of Virginia Beach while also witnessing a magnificent sunset.

Cape Henry Lighthouse

Since 1996, We have been offering guided kayak dolphin watching trips to see these amazing creatures during their summer migration off the coast of Virginia. The Sunset Tour combines dolphin watching with a sightseeing tour of landmarks such as The Cape Henry Lighthouses and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. On our Sunset Dolphin Kayak Tour you will likely see dolphins and numerous birds as we paddle along historic Cape Henry in Virginia Beach. Along the way you will also see local landmarks such as the Cape Henry Lighthouses and Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel get lit up by the evening sun as it sinks beyond the horizon of the Bay.

We arrived for the tour and it was a very windy day and the tour operator very professionally and kindly explained the potential risk and excessive difficulty in paddling in such windy conditions. He was fully prepared to take anyone who was willing to participate or provide a full refund. We appreciate the honesty and integrity of the tour operator.

I chose this adventure for my birthday. I was hoping to see dolphins and I did. I was happy that they came around. Of course I would have wanted for a dolphin to get closer but that’s not realistic in the wild. Watching the sunset, the sky, the moon, while in the ocean was the magical moment. I’m also glad we didn’t go far out as paddling is work. I’m glad we were able to enjoy more time sitting still in the ocean rather than paddling the entire time. I wouldn’t have chosen any other place to end my birthday surround by nature and peace. The instructor provided us with education and he also took pictures of us with his camera and sent the photos to us and no cost.
