At sunset, Oahu’s North Shore becomes magical, with colorful skies and billowing clouds that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a painting. This special time turns into an unforgettable experience when you witness it from horseback, traveling through quiet forests and beautiful mountain trails. That’s not to mention that at sunset everything cools down and all the birds start to sing. Trust us, it’s the best time of day to ride.

On the trail, you might see grazing cattle, native fruit trees, and even wild pigs. You’ll also have sneak peeks of the ocean below, leading up to the best part—a thrilling panoramic view from our scenic lookout. You’ll remember it for years to come.

My wife and I found Gunstock Ranch on google and boy are we happy we did. We went with the sunset dinner ride since it was our honeymoon. Everyone at the Ranch was so accommodating and friendly. My wife and I are religious and we're not able to eat any of the dinner food. The friendly secretary (Cat) who answered the phone when we booked our reservation was so kind, and went out of the way to get us kosher fruit to enjoy by the camp fire at dinner. A special shoutout to our guide Kattie she was super nice and really went the extra mile to make us enjoy our ride! Overall the trail was stunning, the horses were healthy, tame, and very well maintained. Thanks for giving us a great time! Best regards, Yuda.

Guide was Roxanne, Rox. She was knowledgeable and fun. Highly recommend this activity. Do not wear lug soled boots. Check the weather prior to the ride; you may need bug spray if there isn't a breeze. Our trip was perfect. Not too hot, nice breeze. Amazing view. The horses were gentle sure-footed and forgiving. No spook when the wild boar were on the path ahead. All the staff were helpful and kind.
