Molokini Crater

Snorkel the crystal clear waters of the world famous Molokini Crater, one of the most unique and beautiful places to snorkel in Maui. Home to a lush reef teeming with marine life, this partially submerged volcanic crater is crescent shaped and creates a protective oasis from waves and strong channel currents, making snorkel conditions ideal. Home to a lush reef teeming with marine life, Molokini has over 250 different species of reef fish and hundreds of species of coral. Our boat, REEF EXPLORER takes guests to Molokini in record speed, away from crowds and allowing for the most private snorkel experience possible.

Wow this was a windy overcast choppy day…to say we were a bit anxious is understating it. And yet, upon seeing this large yellow boat/ship it gave us comfort and the ride was so smooth and fast. We made it out to Molikini crater quickly and the crew began tying us up to try and allow snorkeling. Such a persistent crew of Brad and look alike Prince Harry (Esteban) as they negotiated the waves and tried to get us a bit stable (we knew they were having some struggles but unbeknownst to us at the time, the reverse was not working as one of the four motors (killer horsepower) had raised up on the other side and was not functioning as it should). This team though never let on their concern but continued to work for our behalf and then we all decided that going elsewhere to snorkel perhaps was a better choice on this crazy wavy water! So we spun off in great speed and and viewed beautiful coastline until we got to Turtle Cove. Our young and older adults enjoyed snorkeling and then Brad sped us in traversing motion with water spray to the front young adults which they loved. Thank you Brad and Esteban for taking care of my group and we had great fun in spite of the difficulties we learned about later. Dr Danette

We had an amazing experience on our Private 3 Hour Snorkel trip today! The new Super Raft was such a fun boat to be on! It was a terrifically smooth ride, even at high speeds and with occasional turbulent waters. There were 2 of us on the boat that are prone to motion sickness but we felt fine because of how quality the ride is on this new boat. We went in the afternoon, so the waters at Molokini were a little too rough and instead, we went to a different spot and it was a wonderful snorkeling experience. CAPTAIN BRAD was fabulous! He was cool, grounded, safety-focused and made the ride really fun for us especially when he took the turns. We were laughing and shouting with enjoyment! ESTEBAN was a great First Mate. He was very friendly, fun, helped us with our gear and offered us some snacks. HIs greatest gift to us was his attention to safety. He helped us keep track of the 4 kids (ages 10-13yo) when we were all in the water and that gave me an additional feeling of security. He snorkeled with us for a little bit and pointed out some very cool sea creatures for us to see. The Captain allowed us to snorkel along the coastline on the way back to the dock. He kept the boat drifting beside us so we could explore the reef over that long distance. Overall, the excursion was AMAZING and we highly highly recommend Maui Reef Adventure!!!. Captain Brad and Esteban are the BEST!!
