Surf Class for Beginners in Venice

Overview

Learn all the basic surf knowledge in no time with our unique technique! Our school's proven method can have even complete beginners standing up on a surfboard in less than two hours. You don't have to wait for weeks to experience the thrill of surfing!

In just two hours, we'll cover everything you need to become a surfer. We'll start with a half-hour land lesson where you'll learn the basic rules and surf safety. Then, we'll get in the water with your instructor, who will guide you every step of the way. Once you're ready, you can practice on your own.

Our beginner surfing lessons offer the best value, with an optimal student-to-instructor ratio. We use a safe part of the beach that's perfect for surfing, even if you've never been on a board before. You'll be riding waves and feeling the joy of surfing after your very first lesson!

I had Alex, and he is an amazing instructor! He went step by step, breaking down surfing basics into a 4-step process, and had us practice on the sand on surfboards before getting into the water. He was very sequential, showing us how to execute the steps, watching and correcting us as we tried on the surfboard on sand, going into the water with us and helping us with paddling and "getting up" timing, and then standing back and letting us try on our own. I managed to surf a few waves for the first time in 5 years! The lessons are very reasonably priced (currently $60) for 2 hrs, and by the end of it I was physically and mentally exhausted, so I definitely got in plenty of practice. Perhaps I'd have gotten a little less if our group was bigger (it was supposed to be 5 but only 3 showed up), but still. They used nice, soft, light foam boards for us beginners, which was helpful.

Martin was a great instructor! He had a very positive and fun vibe, which helped ease our nerves and encouraged us to do our best (even at our very poor skill level). He was a great teacher and made sure to pay attention to all members of the group. He definitely made the experience even better than we’s expected.
