My fiancé and I had the best experience with BWD! Alika was our instructor for a semi-private surf lesson and he made me fall in love with surfing. He knew when we were getting tired and helped us paddle out so we could keep catching waves! They take pics of you during your lesson and have them ready to purchase when you get back to the surf shop (the pics are also amazing!) If you’re going to learn to surf, you MUST go here!

We recently went on a family reunion to Honolulu. While there, four adults and four children in my family took surfing lessons on Waikiki Beach. There were many different companies that offered lessons, but we ultimately chose Big Wave Dave's. We could not be any happier with our choice. They were very informative and helpful. We are surfed for a couple of hours and had a great time. However, what really impressed me was how great they were with our kids. They were kind, patient, and helpful. The kids had such a great time, they wanted to go surfing every day of our trip. Great company and great instructors.

Parking was headache free at the International Marketplace, about 3 blocks away ($12 for the day). Big Wave Dave's really easy to find and after signing a waiver and taking the "land lesson" we had a quick 5-minute walk to the beach. Didn't even have to carry our own surf board. Josh was a great instructor for our 15-year-old son (and three others on this small-group lesson). Helpful and got along great with everyone. We came back two days later for surfboard rental and would return again and again.
