Sweet & Savory Tour of Lancaster City!

Overview
I am a Lancaster native, former professional baker and committed food lover who can't wait to share some of the hidden culinary gems of Lancaster City! My passion is food and hosting/meeting new people. We will visit unique and varied "off the beaten path" downtown purveyors on this door to door walking tour, where you'll get extra access and attention from owners and operators. Ask your questions and enjoy generous samples! Take home goodies are included in the price of the tour, AND a wealth of history about the city.

Mikeā€™s knowledge and sharing of the cities history kept us engaged during the tour. Also learning about the cities preservation efforts and organizations committed to Lancaster also painted a bright future for the community. The stops along the way allowed us to enjoy different Lancaster flavors and we returned to several again during our stay in Lancaster. Frank Solano. 7/14/22

This was the most expensive of the food tours given the weekend we were in Lancaster. Our food samples were: pickles, a stroopie, a cup of tea, a cupcake, tasting at an oil and vinegar shop, and a Whoopi pie. This company is pulling in a huge profit at $70 a head! The oil and vinegar tasting is free to all customer. The other items maybe totaled $30 erring on the high end. Some interesting history told by the guide, but Iā€™ve done food tours in 3 other cities and this was really of poor quality. Very disappointed.

We are very sorry you were disappointed and didn't feel the value was there. There is usually a stop at a French pastry shop that is a higher price point, but it was unexpectedly closed due to a plumbing problem and it was necessary to go to the Central Market as a substitute. Having offered this tour for over 3 years with almost exclusively 5 star reviews across all listing platforms, almost all of our guests do feel the tour is well worth the price, not just the samples and take-homes, but the city tour and information provided by our guides. That said, we do appreciate your feedback and take it seriously. I would also note that in addition to direct food expenses, there are multiple other costs associated such as substantial commissions to platforms such as this one as well as guide payments and other indirect costs that diminish the perceived "huge" profit down to a very modest number per person.
