Taste of Fredericksburg Small-Group Wine Tour from San Antonio

Overview
Our small group wine tours allow for our guests to have a more one on one experience while exploring the Hill Country wine region (Texas' best kept secret!). Our knowledgeable tour guides are able to provide not only history and insight to the local area, but also thoroughly educate guests on the wine making and wine tasting process. Our tours have no minimum, and are guaranteed to be conducted no matter how small the reservation may be; rain or shine, and our tour group size will never exceed 8 guests.

This tour visits two (2) area Wineries and allows for guests to visit the town of Fredericksburg for 90min. Enjoy the scenic drive from downtown San Antonio as we venture further out into Texas Hill Country.

We're a small, family owned tour operator with strong San Antonio roots. Join us as we take you through the scenic Hill Country through the eyes of a local San Antonian.

We went to wineries we would not have went to on our own. Tasted some extraordinary wines and even joined a wine club.

Loved our guide Matt. Enjoy our fellow touring guests. Matt modified the winery picks after seeing what our group enjoyed and it was a perfect choice. Would totally go again

Glad to hear that you had a great time, and itā€™s always fun when you have a great group of other folks youā€™re touring with. With so many wineries in the area, Iā€™m sure we can definitely introduce you to a whole set of new wineries on your next visit, and weā€™d love to have yā€™all tour with us again. Thanks!

The 3 star rating is by no means a reflection on Melanie who did a wonderful job as our tour guide/chauffeur. However, the tour itself seems as though it is set up backwards. We started out in the morning with the two wine tastings at St Tryphon and the Sisters wineries. Then 20-25 minutes drive time to Fredericksburg, arriving at 1:30. We had one & a half hours for lunch and to ā€œexploreā€ Fredericksburg. Unfortunately, it took an hour and fifteen minutes for lunch which left virtually no time to explore the town. It would seem a better option would be to hit Fredericksburg first, maybe with a stop at Luckenbach on the way and then visit the wineries on the way back to San Antonio.

Hi there. I am truly sorry to hear that your lunch stop took up most of your time in Fredericksburg, and I genuinely appreciate your feedback, and please know that there are definitely pros & cons to each potential way. On the occasions we have indeed tried our tour the way you suggest, surprisingly, we received more negative feedback on that way than how we currently offer our tour. Guests in the past have expressed that they would prefer making the winery stops on the way to the town so that they can have the drive broken up into smaller sections rather than having the full 70 minute drive from San Antonio to Fredericksburg at the beginning. Another challenge we have faced in the past are various stores & restaurants not being open early enough when making Fredericksburg our first stop. Some places may be open at 11 or noon depending on the day. By making the town last, we at least do everything in our power to ensure that we visit while as many places as possible are open. Other guests have also expressed that they just had breakfast right before our tourā€™s pick up, and with Fredericksburg as a 1st stop, they still had no desire for another meal. Then after a few wineries and with no other meal options on the way (since we are traveling through country roads) guests are famished by the end of the tour at 4:30. Additionally, adding another food stop at the end would greatly extend the time of the tour to well over 7 hours. But again, we do sincerely appreciate your feedback, and perhaps we will simply extend our time in Fredericksburg in the future.
