Taste of Fredericksburg Small-Group Wine Tour from San Antonio

Overview
Our small group wine tours allow for our guests to have a more one on one experience while exploring the Hill Country wine region (Texas' best kept secret!). Our knowledgeable tour guides are able to provide not only history and insight to the local area, but also thoroughly educate guests on the wine making and wine tasting process. Our tours have no minimum, and are guaranteed to be conducted no matter how small the reservation may be; rain or shine, and our tour group size will never exceed 8 guests.

This tour visits two (2) area Wineries and allows for guests to visit the town of Fredericksburg for 90min. Enjoy the scenic drive from downtown San Antonio as we venture further out into Texas Hill Country.

We're a small, family owned tour operator with strong San Antonio roots. Join us as we take you through the scenic Hill Country through the eyes of a local San Antonian.

We began the day in a slight drizzle in San Antonio; on the way to the first winery it began to rain. We had just made our way into the winery and it started pouring, with thunder, lightning and wind. Driving to the second winery we met a driver coming the opposite way who warned us not to go further due to the river ahead being dangerous so we diverted to another winery. When we finished there the rain and wind were over, and by the time we got to Fredericksburg the sky was blue and the sun was shining! It's just a short stop in Fredericksburg, but it's a small downtown, so we were able to visit as many of the shops as we wished. Others on the group had time for a leisurely lunch, and then we made our way back to San Antonio. Everyone along the way was friendly and informative, from Brandy at the office, Matt as driver and guide, and the delightful folks at both wineries, making us feel welcome. I do have one suggestion - we were seated in the third row of seats and I could not hear one thing Matt said in the van. The only thing I would have liked to have done differently is sit close to the front of the van. We were seated toward the back and since Matt doesn't use a microphone I couldn't hear one thing he said while we were on the road. The length of the tour is perfect - not early enough that you have to rush to get there, and you get back early enough to have the entire evening free.

Thank you again for taking a tour with us, and we're glad you had a nice afternoon given the rainy conditions. We definitely appreciate the feedback, and we'll definitely be using a microphone in the future. Cheers! -Brandy

Our group visited 4 wineries in Fredericksburg. Matt was our guide. Not only was he funny and entertaining, but also extremely knowledgeable, both with wine and Texas history. We had an amazing time and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. A snack was included and we had time to have lunch in downtown Fredericksburg as well as shop around for a bit before continuing the tour. I've been to other wine tasting events before but this was truly a stand-out. Don't miss this tour!

Thanks again for taking a tour with us, and we're glad you enjoyed your time with Matt. We definitely like to show our guests a great time at wineries, but sprinkling in a bit of history along the way definitely livens up the trip. We definitely appreciate the kind words. Cheers! -Brandy

Matt was our guide for the day. He was knowledgeable, accommodating and entertaining. He was patient with our large group and able to find us some top rate Texas bbq along the way. Highly recommend Cottonwood tours for a fun day.
