We took our 11 year old granddaughter on this lovely helicopter trip. The views were unique and lovely. People were nice and everything was safe. The pilot, however, had to spend time talking to local controllers about air traffic. The trip would have been even better if he would have given more dialogue to the passengers on the sites and history.

This was to be the highlight of our New York week (trip of a life time) and it was mainly for my benefit. I was the one who had always wanted to do it, that is see New York from a helicopter, my thirty year old son came along for the ride, company and support. Anyway they coupled us with another couple. That made four passengers and the pilot. The young woman got the front seat next to the pilot, my son was given the back starboard window seat and the other guy, partner of the young woman, was given the back port window seat and I was stuck in the back middle seat. Once in the air everyone is monopolising their particular window, taking as many pictures as they like. But all I got was the odd glims over someone's shoulder and by the time I've got my camera pointing at anything they have either moved across my field of view or the helicopter banks and/or turns. The cameras reading the available light in the cabin and anything that can be see through what small crack of window I do get is there fore over exposed. Got great shots of the helicopter controls, instruments and pilots shoulder but everything outside the helicopter is over exposed, were as my sons shots from right up against the window are brilliant and just what I was hoping to get. No if I'd know how limited the view from where they made me sit was going to be I would have refused to go and would have demanded a refund. I booked to see New York, and have the opportunity to take photo's, from an helicopter from what I got I might as well have been in a lift. All those five and four star reviewer's probable all got window seats and had I got a window seat I would more than likely be giving a four or five star review. However in the middle of the back seat you can see nothing. But you don't get a choice; they say who sits where for even weight distribution. So if you're the unlucky one they say is in the middle of the back seat ask for your money back and don't go because it's a waste of time and money.

We were still at home when we booked our tour and it was easy and seamless. The greeting was friendly and the pre-boarding instructions is our anxiety. With our adrenaline heightened we took off into the air and saw the sights of New York from a totally different perspective. It really helped that we had a very clear sunny afternoon. The flight along the Hudson river gave spectacular Views. We strongly recommend this helicopter ride.
