What To Expect

Kilauea
Kilauea is one of the most active volcanoes on earth and has been continuously erupting since 1974. Here we will explore the East Rift Zone of Kilauea, including Kilauea Crater, Pu’u O’o Vent and it’s lava flows that are currently entering the Pacific Ocean. The tour will then fly north up the windward side of the island passing Hilo town, the wettest town on earth and the heavenly Hamakua Coast. Then we will whisk you up north to explore the seven windward valleys of Kohala. First stop is the windward side of the Kohala Mountains where we will fly the coastline of Waipio Valley and then move westward to Waimanu Valley. Waimanu can experience annual rainfall of up to 200 inches, fueling 1500+ ft waterfalls, some of the tallest in all of Hawaii.

Very safe flight, pilot very professional and knowledgeable giving the tour. Was probably our bad for doing this on last day of trip, we had already seen just about everything in person. North side of island with steep cliffs and many waterfalls was amazing, and inaccessible any other way. The rest was sort of meh. Other companies' copters we saw during flight were much closer to the action, as in much lower to Kilauea crater and cliff walls than we were. Perhaps a function of our smaller copter, Idk but was disappointed by that. For the three of us, $1600 for a birds eye view of mostly farmland, trees, lava rock, was not worth it. We were mostly bored and took one pic the entire flight (a small orange dot of Kilauea lava).

James was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and, in addition to the beautiful scenery, provided the geological and historical context of the various sites. He even gave us tips on places to visit. The entire family enjoyed our first ever helicopter ride. Thank you!

We were immediately greeted by a charming, personable young lady. Our knowledgeable, expert pilot Ben had a sparkling clean helicopter. Seeing the island and volcano from a different perspective was spectacular and the remote valley we were lucky to see due to ideal weather was the highlight.
