Overview

At The Dinner Detective, you’ll tackle a hilarious and challenging crime while you feast on a fantastic dinner. Just beware! The culprit is hiding in plain sight somewhere in the room, and you may find yourself as a Prime Suspect before you know it! Our engaging and unique murder mystery dinner theatre performances have been playing across the country since 2004.

Our show is very different from traditional murder mystery dinner shows. We will hide non-costumed actors in the audience that are pretending to be part of the crowd. This results in a much more social and interactive evening than with other shows. Our shows are set during the present day and take place in real time. Over the course of the night, our costumed Detectives will uncover clues, interrogate audience members that may or may not be part of the show, and help everyone get closer to solving the mystery.

Really fun and interactive great for a large groups . And lots of fun to interrogate and try to figure out who done it. Highly recommend and 4 course meal was amazing.

The show was performed in a large ballroom and set up for 90 people. None of the characters wore microphones and moved around the room. Our table could not hear most of the dialogue. It was a huge disappointment to my entire group of 3 tables. I've been to many murder mystery shows and this by far was the worst. The plot made absolutely no sense. Don't waste your money.

Hello Carole! Thank you for your comments. The Dinner Detective is very different from a traditional staged murder mystery show, and we're sorry our show was not to your liking. Based on the extensive pre-show correspondence from your large group regarding place cards, arriving early, exclusive seating, and other requirements, we gather that your group was expecting a private event just for you, instead of a regular public show. You even went so far as to directly contact our venue with your requirements, which complicated the process for our team. To our knowledge, we did not receive any complaints from your group during the show on Friday 11/5 at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac, which by all other accounts went very well and left our guests satisfied. Had we learned about issues during the show, we can and would have made every attempt to rectify the situation and ensure your satisfaction, but we were not told about your issues when we could do something about them. After the show, we received an email from you demanding a refund, threatening negative reviews if we did not comply. As stated above, we made every attempt to accommodate your group's requests before the show within reason, and our team and the venue would have made every effort to satisfy you when you were with us. Instead, you chose not to tell anyone and threatened us with negative reviews after the event had ended. Thanks again for joining us, and we hope you have a wonderful day!
