We were expecting an hour and a half tour, ending where we began. It was two and a half, and ended a mile from where we began. I don't know our guides name, I don't remember him introducing himself. He was very knowledgeable but the time and ending destination messed up our other plans that day. And we didn't hit some of the spots listed in the description. So ask before your tour starts so you know what you are getting into.

Brian was such an engaging guide around the French Quarter - it was amazing to have that in depth insight from a locals perspective. I learned so much - so many aspects that you simple can’t see without the guidance of a local. This was a super experience.

The walking tour was amazing, and we had a stellar tour guide who was responsible for that experience. Andersen was incredibly knowledgeable about all the places we walked around, as well as the larger historical context behind New Orleans, Louisiana, and in general the history of settling the northern half of the new world. He took us through a substantial portion of the French quarter, all the while keeping up and engaging in a lively conversation about architecture, economics behind different colonization efforts, the current affairs of the city and many other topics. None of this was necessary for a walking tour, and it was clear he had real passion for the subject and didn't come just with some prepared lines and material. We went in expecting a lazy walk around some shops and old building, and received quite the walkthrough of New Orleans history, art, architecture and society. He went into detail whenever we asked him to(which was incredibly frequent) and was incredibly respectful of the material under discussion, pointing out the discrimination faced by many indigenous as well as enslaved peoples, and also highlighted many unsavoury parts of history that I would have expected (and been disappointed if it happened) other tour guides to skip over. Overall, a highly recommended tour, especially if you can get Andersen to do it for you (I doubt the others are shabby either). The booking experience was painless and we will consider doing other tours with the same company as well the next time we're in town.

Wow! Honestly, this must be the nicest review we have received since we started our tour company. I am proud that Andersen is one of our guides; your review confirms that he is a great guide. Thank you for taking a tour with us and for taking the time to write such a review.
