Tour operates in most weather conditions. Pay attention to the forecast as the weather in Boston can shift even a day or two out. Please dress appropriately.
Not wheelchair accessible. We will be covering a significant amount of ground and those with injuries or significant mobility limitations will likely find it difficult to complete.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. There is no hard age restriction but this is not a "kids" version of events. The narrative structure helps keep them engaged but the younger they are the more difficult it is to stay involved for the duration. However, every child is different and parents know their own best.
We will be outside in the open air for the duration.

What To Expect

The Revolutionary Story Tour

City Hall Plaza is a pedestrian only plaza very centrally located. We meet between the Staples Connect and City Hall (The big angular concrete building) I will be standing directly in front of a large statue of a basketball player.

King's Chapel Burying Ground

Learn about the incredibly unique people who first settled Massachusetts and how they created the cultural bedrock the Revolution was built on. The Puritans are much more important (and weird) than you can imagine!

Granary Burying Ground

The Sons of Liberty! We'll visit the tombs of Paul Revere, John Hancock, and Sam Adams. They'll be with us all day!

Old City Hall

In my opinion this is an absolute must do for anyone who is interested in the American Revolution. I wanted to take my two older kids (currently 12 and 14) to the Freedom Trail for so many years now. As a huge American history buff with a degree in both history and political science, it was really important to me that they get an opportunity to dive into the immersion that Boston can offer when it comes to the Revolutionary era. I didn’t necessarily want to be the only person to deliver that experience so I started looking around for different tours. I didn’t want to be a part of a huge group and I didn’t need a tour guide that was dressed up to look like a colonial. I just wanted a good, small tour that was full of accurate information that would engage the kids, be fun and educate them a little bit at the same time. The tour today was absolutely phenomenal. I cannot recommend Mike enough. We were on and off the Freedom Trail, we did not cover all of the Trail and that’s OK… if I wanted just a straight Trail run, place to place just the facts, I could do that myself any day. What Mike provided today was a story, was actual context, and he did it fantastically well. Book the revolutionary story tour with Mike. He is a one-man shop, you will have him as a tour guide, and it’s some of the best three hours that you can spend learning about Boston‘s role in the times leading up to the battle of Bunker Hill. TAKE. THIS. TOUR. There. Did I say it emphatically enough?
