Tour operates in most weather conditions. Pay attention to the forecast as the weather in Boston can shift even a day or two out. Please dress appropriately.
Not wheelchair accessible. We will be covering a significant amount of ground and those with injuries or significant mobility limitations will likely find it difficult to complete.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. There is no hard age restriction but this is not a "kids" version of events. The narrative structure helps keep them engaged but the younger they are the more difficult it is to stay involved for the duration. However, every child is different and parents know their own best.
We will be outside in the open air for the duration.

What To Expect

The Revolutionary Story Tour

City Hall Plaza is a pedestrian only plaza very centrally located. We meet between the Staples Connect and City Hall (The big angular concrete building) I will be standing directly in front of a large statue of a basketball player.

King's Chapel Burying Ground

Learn about the incredibly unique people who first settled Massachusetts and how they created the cultural bedrock the Revolution was built on. The Puritans are much more important (and weird) than you can imagine!

Granary Burying Ground

The Sons of Liberty! We'll visit the tombs of Paul Revere, John Hancock, and Sam Adams. They'll be with us all day!

Old City Hall

Mike really does have a way of making 3hrs of walking and talking about history incredibly entertaining to all age levels. We had several teenagers and their parents as well as a young child (7) and foreigners on our tour, and it looked like we all had a good time. He is knowledgeable and truly makes an effort to bring history to life by using Boston and all the contents in his bag as props. He is very objective while presenting history in a very passionate way, talking about all the most important players as well as bringing up many personalities I'd never heard of as well as fun facts and stories. Since we were visiting Boston for the first time I was looking for a tour of the historic part of town and had a hard time finding one that wasn't cookie cutter, script driven or big group. This tour was perfect. Mike only has about 10 people in his group and at the start of the day tells you that he has nothing else to do the rest of the day, so he'll stop as often as we need to, and follow our pace, fast or slow depending on interest and walking speed. He also supplies you with an earpiece that plays what he is saying sot that he's not shouting and you don't have to feel like you always need to be in the front to hear what he is saying. The amount of walking wasn't bad at all, he made sure he broke it up so that we weren't constantly on the go. For $25/person, I think it's the best deal in town.

Mike was a very knowledgeable guide and took us through a 3.5h tour through the rich history of Boston. He is really passionate about history and presents it as if it were a script for a movie (3h constant narration! incredible performance)! As a local, he gives good advice on local restaurants/shopping, too. I am really not not familiar with american history, I but I honestly think that learned something that day! What stands out is, that he structures the tour chronologically which makes it easier to follow the story. This tour really focuses on history. I would recommend it, thanks!
