The Vibrant Kerns Hood - East Burnside and more

Overview
In this Portland food tour, we will explore the charming streets of the Kerns neighborhood where we will sample some of the tastiest bites that Portland has to offer. This once sleepy neighborhood has blossomed into a Portland bazaar for diverse and delicious treats. Our five stops will create a varied and scrumptious meal and whet your appetite for what the Kerns has to offer. Examples include ethnic contributions such as Jaliscan and Bretagne food, a visit to an eclectic outdoor food hall, charcuterie, and dessert from an artisanal ice cream shop..

You will not leave hungry!

While the Kerns extends more broadly, its core is centered on Restaurant Row, on NE 28th between Burnside and Glisan St.

We will walk a total of 1.3 miles through tree lined streets and hipster hangouts while we visit six foodie hot spots in the Kerns neighborhood. Along the way we will also talk about the history of the Kerns and take in some classical Portland residential architecture.

All ages welcome.

Visit a food cart, which is tucked away in the Kerns hood. It's a real hidden gem and depending on the day, we'll be enjoying either Korean fried chicken, or savory crepes and lavender lemonade. There is even a Beer Bus (yes, a bus with beer on draft coming out the side) on the premises.

I enjoyed this Portland culinary food tour with Sherri because she is knowledgeable, passionate and well connected. She appreciates area history and clearly articulates that in her tours. Sherri values connections with her guests and the people in her neighborhood. She is approachable, friendly and has great flow during her tours. She allows space for people to ask questions and socialize as well. This tour was all about local food and drink. We got some nice walking in as well as a diverse array of the local eateries. Several stops for delicious cuisine were on the menu, drinks and chocolate for desert. No one walked away feeling unsatisfied!
