United States Navy Memorial and Naval Heritage Center

National World War II Memorial

This location is home to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. This statue honors Dr. Martin Luther King and the powerful racial impact his leadership has had on this country. Also in this area is the Tidal Basin, most associated with the Cherry Blossom Festival that takes place each spring.

Lincoln Memorial

Way to long and too much talking. It was actually 3 hour 45 minutes long. Hard to follow what he was saying. Bus also smelled.

We enjoyed the visits to the memorials, Capitol, and White House. The guide was very knowledgeable. It was difficult to see the smaller statues, memorials, etc. that he pointed out without lighting. (I guess we expected them all to be lit during an evening tour.) The tour wasn’t interactive or very engaging although it was quite informative.
