I went on vacation to Pigeon Forge and stumbled across this museum and I love the history of the Titanic and this is one of the few permanent exhibits of the Titanic so I decided to give it a try. I found out that you have to have a reservation, but since there were openings, they just let me buy my ticket there. They even give you an audio player where you can enter the number and it tells you about each exhibit and to be honest, this was no ordinary museum, it is a full experience. They have an exact replica of the Grand Staircase complete with the dome and the clock and you actually walk up the Grand Staircase (and walk down the Grand Staircase close to the end of your tour) as part of your tour (they do have an elevator for the disabled) and continue the tour upstairs. Also, they have interactive activities as well as a room that shows the iceberg and set to the temperature that it was on the night the ship sunk. Also, you can also dip your hands into the water and feel how cold the water is on that fateful night the titanic sunk. Also, they have demonstrations of how hard it was to walk up while the ship was sinking even at 45 degree angle. There was also a replica of a lifeboat and you can sit in it to see what it s like to be in the lifeboats on the Titanic. This is definitely worth every penny and I strongly recommend this place. This is definitely NOT a tourist trap. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful and they also support Autism Awareness and donate funds to help those with Autism and other disabilities. To add, at least when I went, they had a legally blind pianist play piano in one of the galleries and it is very entertaining and he is extremely good.
