My tween son is fascinated by the story of Titanic, so he wanted to visit the museum. Before going, I thought that it might be touristy or exploitive, but it was definitely not. It was sensitively done, respectful, interesting, and informative. While it is primarily a self-guided, audio tour, there are costumed crew members/interpreters in a few of the rooms. My favorite was Josh (the legally-blind, young pianist in the musician's room) who told the story of the eight, Titanic musicians and played the piano for the guests. The grand staircase is impressive, and it is eye opening to try to climb the slanted decks, feel the ice cold water temperature, and watch the water flooding in. Each visitor is given a boarding pass which includes the name/age/story of a person who was on Titanic. At the end, you can find out if your person was a survivor or not. The staff was extremely kind, which I experienced first-hand when I had a brief, claustrophobic episode. Everyone was so nice and calming, and they helped me re-join the tour and reunite with my family and still not miss a thing. (Thank you, crew!) Our tween, teen, and adults were all glad that we visited the Titanic Museum!

When you are planning a trip to Pigeon Forge, you might be overwhelmed by the amount of places to go for amusement. Well , we decided to buy tickets to The Titanic Museum in advance. I can not recommend this activity more! It was everything and more I expected. By the time our group left, we all felt like we had truly experienced what it must have been like leading up to the night they hit the iceberg. We were engaged at all times and felt a “kinship” to the people onboard. Go!!! Run!!! to this exhibit! It is so worth the money. Which in Pigeon Forge might be a rarity.
