This was such a fun way to celebrate our anniversary. It was definitely worth the money, considering you get free admission to Waimea botanical garden and waterfall before the luau begins. It’s also not just a dinner show, you get to participate in coconut and banana husking, making your own palm leaf headbands, and a cooking demonstration before the dinner even begins. The staff is amazing, incredibly talented, and our host was SO funny with super memorable jokes. All the dances performed were mesmerizing, they take you through different traditions from Hawaii, Tonga, New Zealand, and Tahiti. Dinner was all delicious, and we both enjoyed the pork as well as the chicken, and I really loved the coconut desserts. I would go back if I could, I feel like I was smiling the whole time from the great energy and the wonderful performers.

Toa Luau is a great day of fun and education. But don’t let the education scare you off. The admission to the luau includes admission to Waimea Valley park. Waimea Valley park is a cross between Colonial Williamsburg and Longwood Gardens, (if you have been to both you will get that reference). The park is a botanical park with historical displays that end in a 45 foot waterfall you can swim up to. Then…you get a great Polynesian cultural education, and a excellent meal. The luau begins with interactive displays on Polynesian meal prep. We then gather around the “fire” as they build the oven to cook the meal. (Spoiler alert do to health department regulations the meal you are served is not from this). You are then seated in the dining hall and receive a formal invitation from the chief. The Master of Ceremonies then takes you on a journey though Polynesia though song and dance. Stopping off at each island along the way. The grand finale is Hawaii and it’s fire show. You have plenty of luaus to choose from on Oahu, but the only one to choose is Toa Luau.

Uncle Eddie and his family provided a warm and inviting atmosphere and instantly made you feel at home. Activities before the luau included coconut husking, grass weaving, cooking on hot stones just to name a few. Dinner time was a wonderful experience and the pork was my favorite. When the show started the atmosphere turned vibrant and exciting and I was transported to the Polynesian culture of yesterday! Audience participation was encouraged and the cheeeeeeeeee-hoooooooo yells were constant. I loved this Luau sooooo much and highly recommend this experience
