The Toa Luau was absolutely phenomenal. I thought, ok, I’m sure this will be a touristy dancing and food festival. I must say, my wife and I truly developed an even greater appreciation for the people and culture. Before the feast and cultural activities, everyone was able to participated in food preparation, and other activities if they wished. The food and entertainment were outstanding. We were floored by the sense of family, pride and tradition displayed throughout. The MC (sorry, I can’t recall his name) did a great job sharing personal family history. It is obvious that they care about all aspects of the event. One couple at our table had been to this luau eight times before. They live in Waikiki and whenever someone visits, they bring them to the Toa Luau. He said they have been to other luaus’s but none even come close. Again, top notch. You will not be disappointed.

This was our first luau so I read many reviews before finally choosing this one. I chose it because of the high ratings and the location (gardens!) as well as many reviews stating that it isn’t as “commercial” as most luaus. Before reserving I called to inquire about gluten free options (I have celiac disease) and the person who answered the phone was very helpful. My husband and I had VIP seating and we enjoyed every minute of the dinner and show. This is a family owned and operated business and they go above and beyond in introducing their culture, interacting with the guests and making it feel like a small gathering. The food was excellent. They serve everyone first and then you are welcome to go up to the buffet line for more. My gluten free plate was served and there was more than I could eat. It was actually the best meal we had on Oahu. The dancing was mesmerizing and it’s obvious that this family loves what they do. We didn’t get to tour the gardens or falls because it’s closed in Mondays and that is the only day we had available to go. We were in Hawaii for our daughter’s wedding and after our luau I gifted her and the groom a dinner because I don’t want them to miss this fun luau! You will not be sorry if you book this one!
