Awesome experience in all regards. Danny and Ashley were excellent from getting us geared up and providing easy to follow tips and guidelines to taking us through the entire trip. We had 10 people from age 14 to 70+ and all were thrilled and could easily handle the excursion. We saw sea otters, bald eagles and even a gray whale from up close. The guides took us along well and explined interesting and important aspects of the waterway, wildlife and surrounding area. The short hike to a waterfall in the rainforest was better than we could have expected, including information and sampling of edible plants along the way. Highly recommend this for a great adventure in Seward.

Thanks tomhQ3972ZP for choosing our Tonsina Point Kayak & Exploration for your group. We love large groups with diversity in ages, and we also love first-time kayakers. It's amazing you saw a Gray Whale in Resurrection Bay that time of year, what a treat!! Stephanie Millane - Owner Sunny Cove Kayaking Seward, AK 99664 907.224.4426 [email protected]

We had the pleasure of being the first trip of the season for Sunny Cove Kayaking. This was my second time with the organization, and after the first great trip, I was eager to join them again down in Seward. We went on the Tonsina Point trip with our two kiddos -- 8 & 11. We were so lucky that we had great weather. The trip was well within their ability level and the two breaks for hiking, skipping rocks on the beach and endless snacking were most appreciated. Danny, our guide, was very patient and knowledgeable about the local wildlife and sites. He got along great with the kids and was very relaxed throughout the day. That said, he was clearly a veteran kayak guide who could have handled any sort of issue or emergency. This is a first-class local business with top-notch equipment and tons of experience to make your first or tenth time on the water a real blast.

We got the grand tour of Tonsina Point and realized we had scored big with our guide. Throughout the paddle there (and back) she pointed out wildfife - we spend quite a bit of time watching a pair of playful otters - caught several glimpses of a whale, all while two eagle and various other birds soared above. We had a nice lunch on the beach then took the short hike to the waterfall at Tonisina Point. Along the way our SunnyCove guide pointed out plants, mushrooms, and berries. Even snacked on some salmon berries (yum). I've been on multiple trips with this service - taken people with varying fitness levels - 1st graders, college athletes and middle-aged professional desk jockeys. No matter what fitness level, the trip felt like the trip was perfectly suited for the crew at hand. Sometimes all on the same trip :-) Memories of a lifetime - start with SunnyCove.
