Overview

Experience the highlights of Astoria with our guided tour! Our guided transportation tour offers an overview of the town, providing insight into its rich history, famous landmarks, historic homes, and movie scenes. We'll also show you the best shops, restaurants, and upcoming events, and recommend eateries, museums, and additional tours to explore. Additionally, we provide pamphlets with in-depth details to satisfy your curiosity. The tour lasts approximately 3 hours, allowing you to thoroughly indulge your interests.

Our pickup time is 9 AM, unless it's a cruise day. On cruise days, we pick up one hour after the ship docks. I will make sure to send a text the day before and when I'm on my way. Pickup times may vary and could be after 10 AM, depending on the number of places we need to pick up from, as Onward Adventures picks up from multiple locations.

Astoria Column

At this 125-foot Column, you will see the fantastic views, listen to the history, smell the coastal air, and take in the challenge of climbing the stairs. People leave this place feeling light, breathing in the accomplishments of yesterday's and today's challenges.

Flavel House Museum

Walk the grounds, see the carriage house and maybe visit the inside of the home.

Oregon Film Museum

Get your photo taken with the Goonies jeep, visit the guest store for your favorite Goonie collection

Fort Astoria

see the Fort read the history, see a Rhododendron tree over 100 years old

Goonies House

Walk up the street to Mikey's house, take a photo

Hanthorn Cannery Museum

Watch the ships, sunsets, and sea lions at the 147 year old Hanthorn Cannery, on the Columbia River. Walk through the free Museum, Visit Vineside Wine Bar, Coffee Girl, Rogue Brewery and some fun shops with lots of Goonie Gear.

Kate (shown here) was simply TERRIFIC! She made us feel right at home as she “wow’d” us with her knowledge of the area. She went out of her way to accommodate all the special interests we had. At the end of the day, we wished the tour could continue. We HIGHLY recommend you book a tour with Kate if travel or a cruise bring you to Astoria.

This tour (& guide) were the absolute best! From the correspondence prior, to the personalized itinerary, to the passionate guide, to the comfortable speed, to the flexibility of sites, to the interesting recommendations, to the exceptional value, to the overall polished thought that obviously went into the tour, I cannot stress enough what a fabulous time I had! As a solo traveler, I can honestly say that Katie went above and beyond my expectations. This was SO much more than what I could have received by a cookie-cutter cruise excursion. I’m so glad that I had the courage to go ‘outside’ of the cruise confines and chose a local guide because I found a ‘GEM’ in Astoria! Thank you Katie!

Our tour guide Katie was so enthusiastic, great sense of humor and willing to accommodate our interests of Astoria! The tour was only supposed to be 2 hours; however, she added a few more points of interest such as Fort Stevens, the south Jetty and the best fish and chips at Bowpicker!!! Her knowledge of Astoria history added to the amazing tour. I would definitely recommend Onward Adventures with Katie and Bill if in Astoria.
