Tour was interesting and seemed comprehensive. Was disappointed that the driver was just that… the driver. Very nice and pleasant but he didn’t really talk very much. The tour was given via a video on a tv screen narrated by a long-time Pensacola resident and historian. Could have done a self guided tour using an app on my iPhone and paid a lot less. IMHO, If I were starting a tour company, I would do the exact opposite. I would hire tour guides with perky personalities that truly loved their jobs and were able to answer questions and make the tour interesting. This company’s business model is all about taking as much tourists’ money as we can and spend as little as possible on outstanding, experienced and enthusiastic tour guides. This experience is lost in a sea of mediocrity. Skip the tour and find an app that will give you a better experience.

Firstly, I'm sorry you cannot accept technology. On the website, it plainly describes the fact we use videos. We all have spent money hearing guides with "perky personalities" misinform us where "George Washington slept here". That is the primary reason Go Retro utilizes technology so the same consistent and correct story is related. Secondly, Florida state law prohibits a driver from talking and driving. One is supposed to stop and then talk. With your business model, tour companies would have to employ an extra person. As it is, operating a tour company costs a great deal in compensation, bus maintenance and insurance. Thirdly, it would cost lots of money to create an "app". Some have done that in Pensacola, and every company has failed. Go Retro has been in operation since 2012 and is the longest operating historic tour company in the city. I urge you to try us out again and embrace technology. All our drivers can answer most any questions as we regularly have sessions where we review the material.
