Trees of Many Colors Tour from Pigeon Forge

Overview
This tour is designed to showcase the unique colors of the Smoky Mountains in the fall. The peak colors change from year to year but we always try to track down the areas where the most color can be found. This tour runs only from October through mid November. Along the way you will see a lot of the local area inside and outside of the park. Your guide will give you a lot of information along the way about the history and heritage of the local area and its people. The route can change from day to day based on the guides intuition and the areas where color may be most likely. Tree color isn't always going to cooperate in the earlier part of the month, please bear this in mind when choosing your date. Even on those days when color isn't easily found however, we show you some of the most amazing views and regale you with stories and history. This tour is a full 5 hours of sights, stories, and views that can't be missed.

The best is sitting next to hubby, who doesn't have to drive. Leaf colors were great. Dustin keeps you entertained. Elvira's lunch very good, will go back. Definitely book another tour.

Views were pretty. Seemed like a lot was doubled up on. And lunch took a long time which got us back quite a bit later than expected.

Before departing I called to tell the restaurant that we were coming told them how many and what time to expect us. That's all I can do on that, we have no control on how quickly they serve customers or what order they seat guests. You are welcome to write them a review if you wish to complain about the wait but I have no control over that at all. The route we took was a figure 8 pattern so the only area viewed twice was coming off the mountain for about 6 miles the rest was totally different. We left from Pigeon Forge went down the spur over the bypass to Rockefeller memorial. From there we went back down turned onto little river rd up into Elkmont over to Metcalf bottoms into Wears Valley had lunch then over the Foothills Parkway into Walland then Townsend then back to Pigeon Forge. There was a stretch of Wears Valley road we were on twice that was about 1.5 mile long. Only about 7.5 miles of the 180 mile drive was overlapping. We did get back later than expected but I felt it would have been unfair to you all to cut the tour short simply because lunch at Hillbillies was slow. I asked everyone if they needed to be back at 2 and everyone said no so I decided to give the full tour which caused us to go over by an hour or so. I had a great time with the group. You all were wonderful and asked good questions. It was very neat to learn a bit about your home as well so thank you for answering my questions. I hope you come see us again on your next visit, just don't book on a Monday, Elvira's isn't open on Mondays.
