We booked the Trolley Tour as a birthday weekend celebration for me. After booking our day/time we got a call back asking if we could switch to a morning trolley. We were looking for the evening and trolley representative said he would call the other party and see if they would switch to the evening. (Businesses can learn about customer service from you!). The other party agreed to switch, yay!
Your meet-up point is Buckinghams and you wait for your group and trolley to arrive. Our group who switched was happy they did. We were the o!dest ones in this group, but fun has no age limits and our group was very nice. (More on Buckingham later). The trolleys are parked in the garage. Again, our trolley was a Friday evening. The weather was hot and you will sweat peddling so dress accordingly. When you load the trolley, you hand your beverages you bought to the attendant and he/she will put in the cooler. During the night, all you have to do is ask, and they will get you another.
You can go up to 3 stops on your tour. We all agreed to Monona Terrace/Student Union (a must see!), Double U, a local suggestion (nice rooftop), Camp Trippilardi (everything to resemble a camp site, including delicious drinks), if you want the rooftop view, seating can be limited on beautiful nights. Note, if you want, you can stay on the trolley during the stops.
Off we pedaled..out into regular traffic, stoplights etc. Soo cool!! Not so much fun for drivers.
Someone took the charge on playing music from their IPhone..lots of Queen, but great selections.
Shootout to our male guides, sorry didn't get names, but you guys were awesome.
You end your night at Buckingham. They advertise glassex of birthday champagne ..NO. They offer pre-season and post-drink specialdt. If you call $9 a special? I had to show an Id just to use the batbroom. Uh guys, I'm WAY over 21 Nobody in our tour visited Buckinghams, we all stayed on the trolley and chatted.
Great time, great people, great fun!! My first trolley ride, but not my last.
