Trolley Tour in Historic Jim Thorpe

Overview
Our historic trolley tour goes from the visitor center at 2 Susquehanna St. through the Jim Thorpe Memorial, the Lehigh Gorge State Park, up Broadway past all the shops, restaurants, and museums to the Mauch Chunk Lake and drop off back at the visitor center. This 70 minute tour is a great way to see most of the town of Jim Thorpe, some of our beautiful natural scenery, great things to do while in town, and our historic buildings along Broadway! Our tour is a live narration with some of the interesting history of the town as well as our name sake.

Loved the historical narrative on the town’s namesake. The accounting oldies tunes was fun. Good way to get overview of the town & avoid the driving nightmare! We went on noon tour- the 1st one of the day. By the time we returned, the entire area was a sea of humanity so good luck driving out! Thanks to the tour rep who recommended getting to town by 9:00 a.m. - we got there at 8:30 & the parking lot & snagged one of a handful of remaining spot!!! HIGHLY recommend doing the same šŸ˜‰!! Our tour guide, Rob, was a hoot! His historical narrative of Jim Thorpe was captivating. Don’t miss the bear in the woods!! While we waited for our tour, we grabbed coffee at Muggles - NOT WORTH THE WAIT - over 35 min IN LINE- then another 15 to get our coffee😳!

I appreciate the kind words about the trolley tour and service- but you only gave us 3 stars? I am thinking the 3 stars was for the traffic/ parking in town and long waits, but not to do with the trolley! If Viator allows updates to your reviews we would appreciate it as 3 stars will pull us down! Thanks!

We really enjoyed our trolley tour with our tour guide. He did a very nice job explaining everything and made it fun. Traffic was so busy but he handled that trolley so professionally.
