The experience was really fun and my husband and I got to learn a lot about dc history! If youre looking for something fun to do this is definitely it!
Booked a food tour and got that and so much more. The history, art, and music here was an unexpected pleasure.
This walking tour was informative and tasty! Brittney was a wonderful hostess as she walked us around the several blocks of this neighborhood, telling us about the history of the Black experience here and the gentrification that is happening just a few streets away. There was a very interesting mix of goodies to eat along the way, including a platter of Ethiopian delights which I had never tried before, and a stop at a Jamaican herbalist who will ask you how you want to feel before mixing a concoction that will satisfy...we even found a new favorite bite there!
We had some initial concerns about the amount of walking described for this tour but found the walk was easy and casual, just wear the right shoes and enjoy the leisurely pace. We started and finished just steps from the Metro line so getting there and back was very easy.
I would take this tour again and recommend it to you as well.
