At Big Island Buggy you choose the destination! You tour the island in your very own open aired VW Manx style buggy. We offer 2 or 4 seat buggies. See historical sites, drive to beautiful beaches, tour the coffee farms, YOU decide where and how long you would like to stay. We rent our buggies for 4 hours or 8 hours. Call for multiple day rentals. Our buggies come with a soft top that you can remove with ease and give yourself an AMAZING VIEW! We deliver and pick up free, KONA TOWN ONLY. We include a fee (delivery and pick up included) to any locations North of the KOA airport to Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, (Please pick the N.of airport, 8 hr. price option). WE DO NOT DELIVER 4 HR. RENTAL TO AIRPORT OR NORTH LOCATIONS, PLEASE CHECK YOUR LOCATION. The buggies can be driven anywhere a rental car can go on the island. They go highway speeds. The only restriction is no off road (except dirt parking lots) and they are not 4 wheel drive. Please call us prior to booking for questions.

Delivery fee of $78.53, when choosing delivery North of KOA airport. (8 hrs. only)

Hawaii Excise Tax: 4.712%

Hawaii Vehicle Rental Surcharge: $5.50 per vehicle per day.

Free delivery and pick up Kona town to Keauhou area only. Kailua-Kona Pier for cruise ships.

Yellow "Tang", Blue "Mako" and Red "Tiki" are STANDARD/STICK-SHIFT TRANSMISSIONS transmissions. Green "Honu" is the only fully automatic transmission.
What is required in order to rent a buggy?
1. Be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver's license.
2. Personal automobile insurance. Foreign drivers must provide Supplemental Liability Insurance and purchase Rental Collision Insurance for $18 per day.
3. Be present at the time of the rental to complete contract.
4. All drivers must be registered on the rental contract.
5. One registered driver will also need to Authorize Use of a credit card for purchase of optional insurance policy deductible, if accident occurs and /or any other incidentals.
6. We require at least 48 hours notice for a full refund.
Can the Buggy be taken off road?
No, our buggies are only allowed on paved roadways and parking lots. Our buggies are equipped with GPS tracking devices, so we will be notified as soon as the buggy enters onto a dirt or lava road. There is a $500.00 charge for attempting "off road" excursions.
How Many People Can Fit in a Buggy?
We offer 2 and 4 seater options for your convenience.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
1. Cancellation within 24 hours of your reservation are non-refundable.
2. Due to inclement weather, we would make a decision for the refund the day of the rental. Please keep in mind that showers and storms will blow in and blow out quickly.

Absolutely loved the Buggy and the Fredom it gave us. Fun to drive and a great way to see the Island 🤓🤓 ☀️☀️🏝🏝🏝 My wife and I had a blast🤩. We’ll do the same thing next year with our boys. Debbie and Aaron, are Down to Earth people. Highly recommend!!! Patrick and Tina

Renting these dune buggies was REALLY fun. Our family rented (2) of these for (4) hours. Wish we would of rented them for the entire day ! The couple that owns the business was so so helpful telling us what places were worth driving to. Gave us a. list by e-mail prior to our trip which really help navigate where to go and what to do. Boy did we ever get the looks driving on Kona in town and around the beaches. Worth every penny - one of the best excursions we did in Hawaii !

This is the best way to see and adventure around the island. The owners are the friendliest, kindest and give you a full review of the buggy and where to go. Def do the 8 hour tour as there is so much to see and do.
