We did Upper right after Lower. I recommend to do both but take Upper around noon when the light gets into the canyon, too early or too late you have the risk to be in the dark because the canyon is deeper than Lower. The trip with the small track and the small walk back offer opportunities to discover also the extraordinary desert landscape. Natacha, our guide was extremely friendly, giving interesting explanations and being a magician for taking pictures for us!

Great experience! Make sure you take water, hats, sunscreen on, some cash for tips, and you’ll be ready to go! Tour guide from the Navajo nation was great, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Took a lot of our pictures for us from inside the canyon as he knew all the right angles and places. Breath taking experience I must say. I can see why the Natives live close to nature, it really is a spiritual experience!

Thomas was fantastic, was showing us what pictures to take and historical information on it. If you want to save money and have time go early (7am when they open) and schedule a tour it’s half the price cash only. The group was smaller do to reduced sizes cause of Covid. You have to wear your masks unless your taking a picture, or going up and down the stairs. Book through the website or go early to book with cash!! You do not need to go between 11-1 to get amazing pictures!
