Let me just start by saying that I was very excited about this trip just from reading the awesome reviews left by other travelers. This experience did not live up to my expectations. When booking this trip I stated that someone in my party (my Mom) could not row due to a shoulder issue. I have been on many rafting trips with my Mom and this has never been a problem with her not being able to row. Right from the start my Mom let the guide know that she could not row, his response was "nobody gets a free ride in my boat". Not a very professional response if you ask me. Also, if this was such an issue how come nobody reached out to me to suggest a different rafting trip? After taking a short bus ride, we got to our starting point for our trip and and was immediately apologized to by the guide after he saw our paperwork stating that there was an issue with my my Mom's shoulder. Our guide apologized once again and said "I wouldn't want to keep a cripple from experiencing this trip" What the actual hell kind of thing is that to say to anyone?? I was so embarrassed that my Mom was being spoken to like that in front of myself, my daughter, and two complete strangers. I really had no words at the time this happened and I am not a confrontational person, so I unfortunately did not speak up. The raft trip was enjoyable enough, but I really could not fully enjoy myself due to what happened before it even got started. I do not think that I would ever raft here again when visiting Tennessee.
