What To Expect

USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park

The Battleship Memorial Park is home to two National Historic Landmarks, the WWII Battleship USS Alabama and the Submarine USS Drum. Step back in time and see what life was like aboard these navy vessels. Explore the Aircraft Pavilion, home to 28 historic aircraft and antique military vehicles. Afterwards, make your way over to the Great War exhibit, which opened in March 2016 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of WWI. Throughout the park you will see memorials honoring modern war veterans including the Fallen Hero’s 9/11 Memorial, the Korean Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, and a monument honoring Military Service dogs. Spend your time however you desire as this self-guided tour will allow you to discover the park on your own terms.

This is the third time I have visited the Alabama Memorial. I enjoy the history and it is amazing to see how complex the operation of this ship was even 80 years ago. It was not an easy life being a sailor and it gives you a greater respect to those of "the greatest generation" who fought and won WWII. This is an amazing area and museum for anyone visiting the Mobile AL, area. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The battleship tour was very good . The displays and descriptions are very well done and it is an amazing piece of American History. The entire family enjoyed the tour very much !

Bring you walking, climbing shoes! Very interesting if you love history! All about WWII! How the sailors lived underwater on the sub, and on the ship! Tiny quarters, tiny people, A city on and underwater! Hard to imagine our 18 year olds operating the big guns in war time but this $18 tour will show you what today’s kids cannot imagine! Great experience!
