How could anyone think of visiting Hawaii without visiting the Arizona and these other remarkable exhibits??? Sure it's a daunting time commitment to thoroughly see them all, but it beats laying out in the sun. The best way to do it is in two half day trips, in my opinion. UBER makes getting back and forth easy. Sign up in advance for your USS Arizona Memorial tour tickets (or try "day-of" for walk-in tickets which are easier to get than the websites make it seem) and then plan your visits to the other exhibits accordingly. I prefer doing the Arizona Memorial first (very informative film followed by a shuttle boat ride to the Arizona site and back), then touring the adjacent submarine Bowfin, then shuttling over to Ford Island to tour the battleship Missouri, and finally (for those who have a car) viewing the USS Oklahoma Memorial before leaving Ford Island. Only the boat trip out to view the Arizona requires scheduling a particular time---for everything else you can walk in whenever. For the Missouri and Bowfin, headphone tours are sufficient---if you want you can occasionally listen in on the guided tours as you walk through the vessels at your own pace. If you can do a second day, save the visit to the Aviation Museum for that trip. It is a very good assemblage of aircraft, static displayed, but can be overwhelming if you're not an aviation buff.

I just turned 70 and have heard stories about the Japen's airal attack on a Sunday morning December 7,1941 since I was a child. "War what is good for" has meaning for you this is the place you might or might not want to visit. A Memorial to those sailors that fought and died that Sunday morning, having no idea that world was about to change forever. It was the first day of the USA becoming supper power in the world. In defeat America changed forever..
