We could have done all the grounds with out the narrative. We still did not get access to the actual memorial and the standby line was hours of waiting. My nephews from Sweden did not even use the audio portion. Very disappointing.

Aloha Tracy, We are very sorry you could not get tickets for the boat or get through in the standby line. The repairs on the pier have been completed, and we are now running at full capacity, so the tickets are easier to get, and the standby line is much shorter. There will still be seasonal long lines during school breaks and in the summer, but more people can now visit the memorial regularly. We hope you will have the opportunity to revisit and experience one of our new multimedia tours or VRs with stories on video from real WWII veterans and Pearl Harbor survivors. Warmest regards, Pacific Historic Parks Team

Almost heard of Pearl Harbour so we had to visit. Being from Canada, it’s not relative exactly to our history but still significant. My wife and I were not totally prepared for being emotional on visiting the sight. Makes you realize the senselessness of war.

Sadly, you have to pay to book a tour with a tour group or hotel if you want to visit the Arizona Memorial. The 1,300 ā€œfreeā€ tickets that are supposed to be released and available at recreation.gov at 3p.m. each day are already spoken for by these for profit tour groups. Also, the park authority will not allow ride shares so be prepared for a bit of a walk and an all day wait in a standby line, with no guarantee of getting a ticket, if you don’t book with a tour outfit. We had 3 days in Honolulu and thankfully figured out the game on Day 2. We booked with hotel concierge and got on tour Day 3. Site itself was very moving and well done.
