What To Expect
1
National Memorial Arch
Then you'll arrive at the National Memorial Arch, perhaps Valley Forge's most notable monument. This impressive arch honors the entire continental army who wintered here, both those who survived and those who didn't.
2
Valley Forge National Historical Park
Well, here he is - the man, the myth, the legend, George Washington himself. A veteran of the French and Indian War, Washington was appointed to the head of the Continental Army by the Continental Congress in 1775, due to his extensive military experience and the belief that having a Virginian in charge would unify the colonies more than a New Englander like John Hancock. As a commander, Washington is known more for his organizational skill and leadership qualities than his tactical abilities, which are considered decidedly average. He is known as a thoughtful and analytical leader, making him the perfect choice for a war against a powerful enemy like the British.
3
Valley Forge National Historical Park
Another detour takes you to the Valley Forge Train Station, which has all sorts of info not only on old-timey trains, but also on General Washington.
4
Washington Memorial Chapel
Fans of revolutionary history will want to detour to the Washington Memorial Chapel, which boasts a replica of Philadelphia's Liberty Bell!

Our tour covers the entirety of Valley Forge including all points of interest, highlights, official park stops, and unofficial but interesting spots — but if there’s anything specific we can add, please let us know! We’d love to improve the tour in any way possible. Please note that it’s important to follow the tour route — that way, all important points are hit.

Viewing the terrian was verybinteresting as you can see the defensive perspective of the landscape. It was the first real bone chilly day and you get an understanding of how it felt for a full winter. Howeve no characters as it wss too cold and windy for them

This is a well-thought out excellent tour. We used this tour to prepare for another one that we plan on taking later this year. I especially liked the fact that you didn't need to be connected to the internet to use it. It made following the tour extremely easy. Since it was attached to maps ,we knew exactly where we were at all times. It made it impossible to get lost. This was self-guided tour so we didn't come into contact with anyone while doing the tour. The only con is that the ticket entry mentions that it doesn't cover things like admission to the arch, or chapel. Those things are free all the time; personally I found that a bit confusing and wonder what it means for the tour we are preparing to take later this year. Other than that, I would recommend this tour for anybody who loves history
