My wife booked this excursion and we chose the intense hike. (~6 hrs total, 4 hrs hiking) We couldnā€™t be happier with our experience. Antonio our guide was just super. He clearly hikes here all the time, gave us options for three different kinds of intense excursions, and I donā€™t think you could go wrong with any. We chose the rainbow rocks area & quickly veered off the trail and into rocky wilderness to see even more. Lots of hiking up, around, in-between and alongside boulders. He knew local horticulture and even better, heā€™s a fun big guy who you feel could rescue you if needed. He also took a ton of pictures and they were truly stellar. He shared them all with us at the end... and wow, amazing! We wouldnā€™t hesitate to recommend this hike. Well worth the time & $$. Recommend: - Intense is great for adventuring types, usually smaller group size, our guide Antonio knew the terrain and area very well. - Wear good hiking boots with foot protection and very good grip on soules. Youā€™ll be walking over lots of rough rocks and terrain with areas of sand. - We went in February, 1:30-6pm with sunsets, great weather in low 70s. Summer time they only do morning hikes because the heat is real. - They supplied small backpacks, plenty of snacks (salty & sweet & health bars) along with water and Gatorade (as much as you want to carry). Hydration!!
