An amazing day out at the Valley of Fire state park, just outside of Las Vegas. I was amazed how close to the strip this was but it felt like we were on another planet, like Mars..... JJ was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the area, making sure everyone was on board with each new area we covered he made it fun for everyone. They supplied water and even a small backpack if we wanted, great day off the Las Vegas strip. video of our hike.... http://vimeo.com/113495318

I enjoyed the Valley of Fire hiking tour. Surprisingly, it blew my mind away more than Grand Canyon did! Reason being, this is a hiking tour, and you get to go off-trail, clambering on rocks on ascent and descent. It was really fun for me because I have always been on those jeep tours and I donā€™t get as much of the true experience as this. If youā€™re looking to really see those magnificent rocks upclose, Love Hikesā€™ tours certainly beat sightseeing jeep tours. JJ, my guide was knowledgeable, patient and helpful. He is a very nice guy whom you want to be hiking next to!! I chose the Easy tour, but according to JJ, there isnā€™t much difference between the more difficult tours, except for distance covered. After the hike, JJ also recommended some sights to see in Vegas that are away from the Strip. Thank you JJ and Love Hikes for the fantastic day-out to Valley of Fire. Tip: You can choose sunrise, afternoon, or a sunset hike. Let the company know in advance and they will cater to your needs. I heard that it is best to experience the Valley of Fire during sunrise. So donā€™t be lazy and get up early!! -Ella 5/11/2014

Jacob, I have to tell you it was your personal attention from my first inquiry that made me choose your company over another. You replied to my questions via emailā€¦then spoke to me at length on the phone. I really felt what we wanted out of our hike was important to you. The other company sent a very formatted response and that's where it ended. This was telling. After booking our hike, the service continued and did not disappoint. Our guide JJ was knowledgable about the area, and made all of us feel very comfortable "scrambling" off the beaten path. He was so considerate and you could tell he was trying to determine each of our abilities as we went along just to make sure we felt safe. The hike itself was wonderful. We really felt like we accomplished something when it was over. My friend and I were considering going on our own and we were very glad we did not. The experience was so much better with a guide who was very familiar with the area. Thank you Jacob and JJ for a wonderful morning at Valley of Fire. I'll be booking again on my next visit. I know my husband will love it. Thanks again!
