What To Expect
1
Wilmington
Welcome to Vermont's Scenic Route 100 Byway! We'll explore the charming landscapes of Vermont, passing through picturesque towns, lush forests, and stunning mountain views. So let’s get started! Note: This 160-mile-long tour covers the essentials of Vermont RT 100 in 3-4 hours. Buy once, use for one year! Ideal for extended visits and return trips over the next 12 months.
2
Trapp Family Lodge Outdoor Center
There's another great attraction here that I know will enjoy. No trip to Stowe is complete without a visit to the Von Trapp family Lodge. It's the second biggest reason after skiing that visitors come to the area. Situated on 2500 acres this Austrian mountain beauty is run by members of the original Von Trapp family that inspired the movie The Sound of Music.
3
Stowe Village Massage
The cozy village of Stowe is just ahead, where we will come to the junction of Route 100. If we decide to explore the village a bit we’ll turn left and go find parking.
4
Cabot
We are right in the middle of my favorite food lover's stretch of Route 100. There are some great places to stop and sample more of Vermont's most loved food delicacies here.
5
Waterbury
We are getting close to the town of Waterbury. One of Waterbury’s more famous tourist spots involves ice cream, but there is another mega brand business based here as well that we might also enjoy visiting.
6
Mad River Valley
It looks to me like we've decided to drive Route 17 to Mad River Glen and maybe even a little further to the App Gap itself. Its less than 10 minute to the Gap, and we'll see the ski area before that.
7
Sugarbush Farm
One of Vermont's more famous ski resorts, but there are also lots of summer activities for kids of every age, even the really old kids like me.
8
Warren
It's another quirky little town and definitely worth the drive through. Driving through town will bring us back onto this road and we won't miss anything.
9
Robert Frost Wayside Trail
The Robert Frost interpretive trail for a little thoughtful, quiet time. I love it. This road will be traveling on right now, route 125 is one of the six mountain gaps or mountain passages of Vermont and very popular with the New England bicycle riding community.
10
Green Mountain Oasis
Visit the Green Mountain Cafe and Visitor Center. You'll see the beautifully restored train station that's now the Visitor Center, and it's at the end of the first block.
11
Calvin Coolidge Homestead
The Notch cemetery where President Coolidge is buried is located on Lynn's Hill Road, coming up on our right. To skip the cemetery and go directly to the Coolidge homestead, we'll see the entrance driveway on our left as we round the curve.
12
Killington
That's great, I lovethis place, thanks for bringing me along. It'll be about a 4 mile drive to the Base Lodge. We can stop along the way and grab some lunch or a snack, or maybe a cup of tea or a cappuccino.
13
Weston Priory
In a couple of minutes, we'll have the opportunity to make a stop that you might not have been expecting today.
14
Londonderry
The next town, as we follow Route 100 is going to be the town of Londonderry. Londonderry, Vermont, got its name from Londonderry, New Hampshire, which got its name from Londonderry in Northern Ireland.
15
Jamaica State Park
For travelers doing a thorough exploration of Vermont, it might be nice to take some time to visit Jamaica State Park.
16
Buttermilk Falls
In just about a mile will be coming to the intersection of Route 100 and Route 103. If it's a particularly hot day, I might be able to tempt you with a quick visit to Buttermilk Falls.

A great experience! The narration was professional, informative and humorous. We learned about the whole state of Vermont, not just Rt. 100. And it was super easy to use. A great value.

Clear and enjoyable. Loved the options for side trips. There was one town where the voice said there were two covered bridges, but it only directed us to one. Otherwise, the narration and visuals were excellent.
