Blue Water Maui is TERRIFIC. They may not be the most organized; we were told to assemble on the dock 30 min before excursion time but the boats were about 30 minutes late getting started. To be fair, it was the 4th of July, and lots of people were using the pier, but the Blue Water staff were definitely on Maui time! If you let that go, however, once you got on the boat, you were in for a fantastic snorkel excursion! The boats are not fancy and there are no amenities or restrooms, but they are comfortable and fun with plenty of room for sun or shade as you cross the channel from Maul over to Lanai. Where we snorkeled, around the back of Lanai, was truly incredible. We've snorkeled at Molokini, and in Kauai, and in places as far as Indonesia and Mexico. This was some of the best snorkeling we have ever done. And the crew, Captain Justin and Nixon, were really awesome guys. We were in the water for over an hour, and then we were taken back over to a sunken dock and pier area that was really nice because of the turtles but annoying because it was crowded with people who had no idea how to snorkel, so hanging out there meant getting kicked in the head a lot! But the turtles were awesome. Sandwiches and soft drinks were available at the end, and they were great. For a fantastic snorkeling experience, we highly recommend Blue Maui!

We had Captain Mark and Chris, they were so awesome and made the experience fun. Even though it was my families first time scuba diving, we felt safe and well taken care of. If you're on the fence about doing this, just do it. It was one of the biggest highlights of the trip to Maui.

During our stay in Kaanapali last week, we looked at many, many snorkeling cruises and finally decided on Blue Water Maui. Our call was taken by Micki who answered all of our many questions. She took the time to assure us that Blue Water Maui was the best fit for what we were looking for. Their boats (and groups) are smaller and much more personally oriented than the larger companies are able to offer. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right choice. The boat's crew, Mark and Brian, were fabulous - professional, knowledgable, and over-the-top accommodating to the 9 of us who sailed. Their total passion and enjoyment of their jobs was evident. The ride out to Lana'i was great all by itself. They pointed out so many interesting sights, and explained so many things that we were unaware of. Of course, they found an ideal spot to snorkel just off the shore of Lana'i. Their use of a huge foam mat provided an ideal platform to ease our way into the water. While going to our next location, Mark located a huge pod of dolphins which gave us all the opportunity of a lifetime to see several hundred of these incredible creatures. Once again, their knowledge and explanations provided much more than just a photo op with Dolphins. Our second location was a few miles south of Lahaina where we enjoyed a good lunch and then a leisurely time back in the water where we saw plenty of fish and turtles. Not once during the nearly five hours did we ever feel rushed to move on. Have you noticed all of the 5 Star reviews for Blue Water Maui? There's a very good reason for them. Don't waste your time looking for a "cheaper" snorkel trip, but remember the old saying, "You get what you pay for." In our case, we consider that we got a really good bargain - Blue Water Maui far exceeded our expectations!
