If you are wondering about a private tour of the awesomeness of the lower loop, stop wondering. This was an amazing experience from start to finish. Our tour guide, Dan, picked us up at our hotel in West Yellowstone and off we went. Along the way, he talked about the history of many of the places we would be seeing, including very interesting folklore and legends. The story of the bellhop at Lake Yellowstone was, I think, my favorite legend. Our weather was perfect, giving us spectacular views of the mountains, fields, rivers, streams, and prairies. We hit the jackpot when we spotted a huge bull elk sitting roadside enjoying grasses and sunshine. This was an immense creature! We saw huge herds of Buffalo, and more elk on our trek around Yellowstone. Dan took us to some amazing areas that provided spectacular vantage points to see nature at its finest. The Lower Falls was breathtaking! We took a short, easy walk to the rock ledge to look at the falls from just above it, and we were treated to a beautiful rainbow in the spray. This is one powerful waterfall! Our excursion took us to the iconic Old Faithful Inn which was not only an interesting stop, but nostalgic for my husband as he had worked there 40+ years ago after high school. The Inn is beautiful with its rustic, woodsy decor, and of course, Old Faithful geyser did not disappoint. This tour exceeded my expectations, and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with Dan as we drove the Lower Loop. He is knowledgeable of the area and took the time to answer all of our questions and to ensure that we were comfortable. This is a tour I highly recommend. You won’t regret it!!
