Great tour, very fun to learn about the history of voodoo and the process of burying above ground. Payton was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this tour. Beware it is VERY hot in the cemetery, about 20 degrees hotter than outside it so dress appropriately!

Had a great experience getting to tour Saint Louis cemetery #1 with our guide Charlie. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Louisiana as well as the cemetery itself. He also gave us a lesson about the different aspects of the voodoo religion. Definitely learned some things I didn’t know. Charlie was very personable and he made the tour fun. They provided us with waters and hand fans as it was June in the south. Nuff said. Gray line tours are very professional compared to some of the others that are out there. Would recommend them if you want a quality tour while in New Orleans.

My wife and I took the tour during our stay for Mardi Gras. We enjoyed the informative tour. Peyton was full of information and was very good at articulating it. The tour walked thru the French Quarter with stories of early New Orleans social scene. The Cemetery One portion of the tour was interesting in the description of the internment process. We were guided to the famous sites within the cemetery. We also learned about the early meeting place for the African Americans and was taught the evolution of jazz. Overall a fun experience we recommend.
