Paulo’s instruction is really clear and easy to understand. Our family were all able to stand up on the board. Paddling is much harder than I thought so it was a great exercise. Thank you for the great experience!!

This is my second time visiting Paulo in Waikiki for a surf lesson - first came with my sister in January 2020 and then came back with friends in October 2020. We did the one hour private group lesson. The morning of your lesson you get a call to confirm and additional instructions of where to meet, what to bring, etc. You start on land and Paulo shows you all the safety lessons and moves you will need to know in the water. Then you get out on the water and put the skills to use. No doubt, Paulo can be a tough instructor, but he wants you to get the most of your money and hit as many waves as possible and do it right. He has a GoPro for the front of the surfboard and his wife makes videos and photos. They turned out awesome and I’m so glad we have these memories to last a lifetime. Definitely recommend Paulo and Kahu Surf and I plan to be back again in early 2021!

Paulo was a great instructor who pushed us to have correct form and really make the most out of our 1 hour session. Each of us (3) were able to ride waves standing on the board during our session. After Paulo gave us advice on where we could rent boards which was super helpful! Overall, a great experience.
