Let me start with the good. The catamaran is large and spacious and you can ride up top in the sun or down below in the shade. It was not bumpy such that you would get seasick. There is an open bar with limited options so your thirst will get quenched. You take a medium-sized boat from the beach onto the catamaran.
We stopped at the snorkeling area and the snorkeling is great. The guides are in the water with the group, ensuring that nobody goes astray or needs anything. Lots of fish and other sea life on the reefs.
There were some downsides. The first thing was that this was billed as a dolphin and sea turtle trip but was mainly a coral reef snorkel. There were no dolphins in sight during any part of the trip. There were one or two sea turtles that were spotted. Still fun, but not quite what we were expecting.
The second thing, which caused a lot of surprise among guests (but which is hidden in the fine print), is that they don't have enough snorkeling gear for guests on board to use!!!! But they somehow have enough gear on board to sell guests. Any other snorkeling trip I've been on (in the Caribbean) gives you snorkel gear to use during the trip. Fortunately our group was able to use some of theirs, although my mask was too small. My advice would be to use a different provider that will actually give you snorkel gear to use as part of the trip price.
The third thing is that I requested a gluten-free lunch, and I was presented with a vegetarian sandwich on regular bread (which I cannot eat). The guide apologized and said that their vendor doesn't understand the difference between vegetarian and gluten-free. So my lunch was a couple bags of Pirate's Booty.
It was still a fun experience but I would use another company next time.
