I’d known I wanted to explore the Freedom Trail during my trip to Boston but hadn’t really planned how I would do it beforehand. The night before the tour, I found the company through a Google search and decided to try it out.
I loved every bit of the experience! We had a large group (maybe 50 or so) for the 12:30 time slot but the tour guide did such a great job of herding us and keeping us engaged. I really appreciated the commitment to the craft, from his dressing up in colonial garb to immersing himself as the individual he was portraying. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and cracked great jokes. The overall experience left me very satisfied and I’d highly recommend this to anyone who wants a speedy deep dive into some of Boston’s most historical landmarks.
One caveat, I do wish our tour guide had been equipped with a microphone or something of the sort. I’m sure it’s a non issue in smaller groups but I found that it was occasionally difficult to hear him given the size of the group. He definitely did his best to project and I commend him for it, but something to amplify his voice might be a beneficial addition. Just some food for thought.
