My son flew over from London to meet me and we spent a week in NY (I am from Sydney) On a whim we decided to book this tour and it was one of the best days we had. Even though it was a long day, it was fantastic and most of that was because of our brilliant guide, Jorge. We saw all the sites and there were so many highlights (I think the Lincoln Memorial was mine) and Jorge always had a story and so much information that he shared with us. He was extremely knowledgeable, quite funny and very caring to the point of asking us after ‘drop off’ if we were all okay to get back to our accommodation. Our fellow passengers were lovely, as was our bus driver and our mini bus was very comfortable. Overall, a fantastic day which i found hard to fault.

I was really looking forward to the trip, however I feel that the experience was ruined by the tour guide Isla (I think that's her name). She was curt and rather unfriendly, which made spending a long bus ride with her rather difficult. She rushed through the sites and barely allowed enough time to walk and catch up with the group to hear what she was saying, let alone take pictures or enjoy the view. She had slim to no enthusiasm in her explanations and just seemed to want to be done with it all as soon as possible. Worst of all, she yelled at me in front of the entire bus when I asked where to find the bus after lunch. The tour "guide" really ruined what otherwise could have been a memorable experience. She kept saying that she's been doing this for 35 years - might be time to retire!!!!

Although it was a long day it was a good introduction to the city. Saw the main sites of Washington. Our guide provided informative information and was more than prepared to answer any questions. Even though we saw a lot it didn't feel rushed. And defineately quieter than the hectic pace of New York. Visited the National Museum of the American Indian. Could have spent more time here and didn't get to the Smithsiom Institute. Definately would return for a longer visit. Trip home was good. We made good time even managing the heavy traffic in the Lincoln Tunnel and got back by 9.00pm. Would recomend if short on time and want a break from New York. The tour guide, bus driver very professional and the bus very clean and comfortable.
