What To Expect

Oxbow Preserve

12.7-acre forest block where birds nest and babies are born. The recreational amenity allows the community to experience the natural areas and habitats that the Napa River has to offer.

Experience the renaissance of Downtown Napa and the resurgence of nature. The approximately a half-billion dollar investment of the Living River Restoration project has connected the river back to its natural flood plain. Bird species have doubled, and salmon & steelhead are on the rise.

We found Napa Valley Paddle through our hotel concierge who sent us an email with things to do nearby. We selected the Water to Wine Tour thinking it would be nice to learn a little bit about the area and because we have done the typical wine tasting tours in the past and were looking for something a little different. We were not disappointed. The scenery from the river is really beautiful. Plus, we learned about the history of the area and got some great tips from our guide, Drew, who knows the area really well. The tasting room we received vouchers for was also just really amazing. If you are considering this tour and are worried because you have never kayaked before, we were total beginners and were able to navigate the river on our own after some instruction from our guide. We are looking forward to joining one of their other tours in the future.
