Overview

Maui Mountain Activities offers horseback rides that take you up into the West Maui Mountains to view waterfalls (seasonal) from a distance, then down to the coastline to ride alongside the Pacific Ocean. Experience the tranquility of Maui's native rainforests and the beauty of its waters. There is a run spot where you can run your horse, if you want (weather permitting), and your guides will take photos of you with your camera along the way. Tour through the petting zoo and experience up close the many animals, which may include mini horses, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, and sheep. This is a 2 hour tour. Soft drinks are provided and complimentary.

ACCURATE body weights are mandatory. If you exceed the body weight given to us by 15 pounds, we will try to see if there is a horse that can accommodate you. If we do not have a horse to accommodate you, you will be unable to ride and will not be refunded.
All Maui County rules and regulations are followed. No masks required.

This was an amazing adventure for my husband and myself. We are seniors and we had a bit of concern this might be too much for us. Although, we both are physically fit and active. They took care to pair everyone up with a horse that they thought were best for us with our abilities, size and age. Our group was a mixture , family with children, young couples with no experience and others with experience. Freddy and Cassidy were our guides and they explained everything to us, gave us bits of information about Maui along the way. We would go slow and then faster at times. No galloping for us, however at the end you could choose to let your horse run or go back with others that chose not to. It was a great experience, views were nice and guides would take pictures with our cameras for all of us. It was a 2 1/2 hour ride so when you get off the horse you are a little stiff for first few minutes, for sure. The guides really helped us on the way and they were so courteous and fun. They made it a great experience!!! This is our 3rd trip to Hawaii in about 10 years and we had not done this on our other trips. So glad we made a decision to try something different and experience Hawaii in other ways. Nice to be outside in their country and mountains in West Maui. Might be pricey but worth it to us.

I’d highly recommend this horseback excursion. Our tour guides (Freddy and Cassidy) were great and really worked hard to teach each rider how to ride properly. I’ve ridden horses over the years maybe 10-15 times and this was by far the best ride I’ve ever been on. They showed us how to trot and run with the horses (for those that wanted to), go uphill, downhill, turn, etc. The views were amazing. The ride takes you up to a 6000’ overlook taking in sweeping views of Pu’u Kukui near where the opening scene of Jurassic Park was filmed and then all the way down to the ocean before returning back up to the ranch. The horses seemed to all be well behaved. This will be a memorable activity right up at the top of all the activities we did while on Maui.

Where do I start?! What a beautiful riding experience. The beginning seemed a little disorganized, but the result was incredible. We all had the perfect horse for our riding abilities and two amazing guides - Fred and Nick. Everyone at the ranch was so nice. The horses were beautiful and very responsive. I have included a couple of pictures of the incredible views we witnessed. Of course, the photos don't do it justice. This is a trip you have to experience for yourself!
