Overview

Maui Mountain Activities offers horseback rides that take you up into the West Maui Mountains to view waterfalls (seasonal) from a distance, then down to the coastline to ride alongside the Pacific Ocean. Experience the tranquility of Maui's native rainforests and the beauty of its waters. There is a run spot where you can run your horse, if you want (weather permitting), and your guides will take photos of you with your camera along the way. Tour through the petting zoo and experience up close the many animals, which may include mini horses, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, and sheep. This is a 2 hour tour. Soft drinks are provided and complimentary.

ACCURATE body weights are mandatory. If you exceed the body weight given to us by 15 pounds, we will try to see if there is a horse that can accommodate you. If we do not have a horse to accommodate you, you will be unable to ride and will not be refunded.
All Maui County rules and regulations are followed. No masks required.

We did the horseback ride in early November. I have only been on a horse once before so I was the nervous rider in our group, but there were other newbies as well as intermediate and expert riders. Fred was amazing and made me feel comfortable during the entire 2+ hour ride up the mountain for some amazing views and then down to ocean level for other amazing views. Would highly recommend this for a fun activity that most were not envision on Maui. Thank you for a great morning an interesting conversation, Fred!

My daughter and I have been on many trailrides and this particular one was awesome! Great for all skill levels: whether a beginner, intermediate or advanced. Everyone was well taken care and had a blast. Beginners can walk the whole way but there is an opportunity for those up to it to full on gallop if they want to. We chose Maui Mountain Activities out of many of the other options on Maui based off reviews in the "Maui Revealed Guidebook." Thanks guys!! This outfit is organized from the start to the end. Guides are friendly and fun - ours were Mike & Fred - A shout out to them! Horses are well trained. Saddle packs, water and juices provided as well as helmets (not optional for those younger than 14). Great photo ops where guides take your photo instead of you trying to pass phones or grab selfies with your horse:) got to see the valley where they filmed part of Jurassic park, nice ocean views and gorgeous Hawaiian forest foliage. The only stinky part - literally- of the entire experience was the restroom accommodations. But hey - at least there was TP, soap & a button you pushed with your foot to have water to wash wish. We don't usually repeat a trailride, but I'll make an exception and bring other family members here when we visit Maui again!
